Scripture:
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)
Reflection:
Each morning is not just a reset of time—it’s a fresh outpouring of mercy. The brokenness of yesterday, the failures, the doubts—they do not carry the final word. God’s covenant love (chesed) does not waver, and His mercies are not recycled leftovers; they are freshly poured from His heart of grace. This morning, let His faithfulness ground your thoughts. Let it still your anxieties and fuel your trust. Great is His faithfulness—not just to the world, but to you, right here, right now.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for this new morning filled with new mercy. Remind me of Your unfailing love today. Let Your faithfulness be the lens through which I see every circumstance. Amen.
Greek Word:
οἰκτιρμοί (oiktirmoi) — mercies, compassions
Used in passages like Romans 12:1, this word reflects deep, heartfelt compassion, often tied to God’s tender care for His people.
Hebrew Word:
חֶסֶד (chesed) — steadfast love, loyal kindness, covenant mercy
A central term in the Old Testament, describing God’s unwavering, covenantal love—a love that does not fail, no matter the circumstance.
