Lamentations 3:22-23 (NASB)
“The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.”
Psalm 103:8-13 (NASB)
“The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.”
Micah 7:18-19 (NASB)
“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in unchanging love. He will again have compassion on us;
He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will cast all their sins
Into the depths of the sea.”
Reflection:
In the quiet moments of morning, as the sun rises and paints the sky with colors of dawn, we are reminded of God’s unwavering mercy. Lamentations 3:22-23 poetically captures this essence, assuring us that His acts of mercy are renewed every morning, offering us grace and hope even in our darkest times.
Psalm 103:8-12 emphasizes that God is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. His mercy is as vast as the heavens above the earth, and He has removed our wrongdoings as far as the east is from the west.
In Micah 7:18-19, we learn that God delights in mercy and forgives our wrongdoings, casting them into the depths of the sea.
Imagine standing on a serene beach at dawn, with the horizon blending seamlessly into the sky. The vast ocean reflects the boundless mercy of God, stretching far and wide, carrying away our sins into its depths. As the first light of day illuminates the world, it brings with it a renewed sense of hope and compassion.
As we go through our day, let’s carry these verses in our hearts, knowing that no matter the challenges we face, God’s mercy is a constant, comforting presence. May we, in turn, extend that same grace and compassion to those around us, reflecting His light and love in all we do.
