At every crossroads, we are called to surrender daily, taking up our cross with faith, as we journey towards a deeper connection with Christ.

Peace Be With You

Post-Resurrection Devotion – Monday (April 21, 2025)

Scripture:

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’”

— John 20:21 (ESV)

Reflection:

After His resurrection, Jesus didn’t just appear to reassure His disciples—He came to commission them. Twice He says, “Peace be with you,” not only to calm their hearts but to prepare them for their calling. Resurrection peace isn’t just comfort—it’s empowerment.

Christ sends His followers into the world with the same divine mission that brought Him: to seek and save the lost, to bring light into darkness, and to declare the kingdom of God. The resurrection changes everything—it transforms fear into courage, sorrow into joy, and observers into witnesses.

This morning, remember: you are sent. The risen Savior has called you into His purpose. Walk in His peace, and go where He leads.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your peace and for calling me into Your mission. Fill me with courage and clarity today. Help me to walk as one who is sent—boldly, humbly, and faithfully. Amen.

Greek Word:

ἀποστέλλω (apostellō) — to send out with a purpose

Used in this passage to show that Jesus commissions His disciples with authority, just as He was sent by the Father.

Hebrew Word:

שָׁלוֹם (shalom) — peace, completeness

More than absence of conflict—true wholeness and purpose, flowing from right relationship with God through Christ.
