Scripture:
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
— Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)
Reflection:
Peace is not found in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of God. Isaiah reminds us that true, sustaining peace is the fruit of a mind fixed on the Lord. As you enter the day, center your thoughts not on worries or tasks, but on the unchanging character of God. Trust is the anchor that holds us steady through the storms of life. God is not distant—He is near to those whose minds are stayed on Him. Let your first thoughts today be of His faithfulness, and your heart will follow in peace.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the promise of perfect peace. Help me to fix my mind on You today. Strengthen my trust and still my heart. Amen.
Greek Word:
ἐλπίς (elpis) — hope, confident expectation
Used in the New Testament to speak of the confident hope believers have in God’s promises, especially the return of Christ and eternal life.
Hebrew Word:
שָׁלוֹם (shalom) — peace, wholeness, well-being
More than just the absence of conflict, this word speaks of complete well-being, harmony with God, and spiritual fullness.
