Scripture:
“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”
— Psalm 145:18 (ESV)
Reflection:
In the quiet moments of the afternoon or in the chaos of the day’s demands, this promise stands firm: the LORD is near. He is not distant, aloof, or unapproachable. He is close to those who call on Him—especially those who do so in sincerity and truth. This nearness is not just emotional comfort; it’s divine presence, attentive and powerful. When you feel alone or overwhelmed, remember this: calling on Him in truth draws you into the presence of the One who never turns away.
Prayer:
Lord, I call on You in truth. Let me be ever mindful of Your nearness today. Keep my heart sincere, and let Your presence sustain and guide me. Amen.
Greek Word:
ἐγγύς (engys) — near, close, at hand
Used in both literal and spiritual contexts in the New Testament to emphasize God’s proximity to His people.
Hebrew Word:
קָרוֹב (qarov) — near, close
Used in Psalm 145:18, expressing God’s intimate and responsive nearness to those who seek Him in truth.
