Scripture:
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
— Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
Reflection:
As the day begins to slow, God’s voice invites you to stillness—not just the quiet of your environment, but the calm of your soul. “Be still” is a command to release striving, to surrender control, and to rest in the truth that He is God. In the midst of noise, decisions, and demands, He remains exalted, sovereign, and unshaken. Pause and reflect: your peace is not in what you can fix or foresee, but in who God is.
Prayer:
Lord, quiet my heart. Help me to be still before You and remember that You are God. Let Your sovereignty bring me peace and renew my strength. Amen.
Greek Word:
γνωρίζω (gnōrizō) — to know, to make known, to recognize
Used in the New Testament to describe coming to a clear understanding of truth, often in the context of God’s revelation to His people.
